Radio Memphis in the Morning
Raised in small-town Mississippi, Kate Lucas has found her way onto many stages, performing as a singer, actress, bass player, and a horrifically awkward exotic dancer. After moving to Memphis, TN she eventually discovered stand-up comedy, and alienated all of the musicians who were willing to perform with her. She has been touring bars and comedy clubs ever since, including gigs in venues such as Zanies Nashville, Loony Bin Comedy Clubs in Little Rock, AR and Oklahoma City, OK, and the Bonkerz clubs in central and southern Florida.
Kate’s act as been described as the verbal equivalent of slapstick, covering a variety of topics. Her act truly embraces the absurdity of modern life in America. Working with several musicians over the years, Kate has had the honor of sharing a stage with nationally touring acts such as Muck Sticky and Rum Rebellion. She has hosted numerous open mics and produced charity shows to benefit several Memphis organizations, as well as uninsured workers of Beale Street. Having performed in a variety of venues and situations, Kate has acquired a fan base that proves that vodka is, indeed, the universal solvent.
Kate has spent the last two years traveling throughout Florida and southern California, but has recently returned to Memphis where she works for Radio Memphis as a co-host for The Morning Show with Ric and Kate. (She would be the “Kate” part.)
